Financial Aid Champions are currently positioned in fourteen schools in Fairfax County with high populations of students receiving free or reduced lunches and/or high enrollment in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes. Champions assist students with all aspects of paying for college; working with students one-on-one to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), scholarship searches, and advocating for students who have special circumstances which affect their eligibility for Federal Student Aid.
While most of the work of the Champions is usually done during the school day, Champions will also be available via e-mail, phone and Zoom to speak to parents and students. To contact a champion, you may use the contact information below. Although Champions have been assigned to individual schools, while FCPS is conducting classes virtually, you may contact any of the Champions, no matter which school your child attends, even if your child’s school does not have a Champion.
You may also send any general questions you have to email@example.com and a Champion will respond as quickly as possible.
Champions will also start taking appointments for one on one help with the FAFSA starting on October 1, 2020. This FAFSA can only be completed by students who are in their senior year. Please review the list of required information and plan to have all of that information available by the time of your appointment. It is also recommended that both the student and one parent obtain their FSA ID prior to the appointment.
