Financial Aid Champions are positioned in FCPS high schools with high populations of students receiving free or reduced lunches, and/or high enrollment in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes. Champions assist students with all aspects of paying for college including FAFSA (or VASA) completion, scholarship searches, and advocating for students with special circumstances affecting eligibility
While this support most often occurs during the school day, Champions are also available via e-mail, phone and Zoom to speak to parents and students (contact information below). Although Champions have been assigned to individual schools, you may contact any Champion regardless of the school your child attends. Note that all FCPS students can work with a Champion, even if their school is not specifically listed.
You may also send any general questions you have to firstname.lastname@example.org and a Champion will respond as quickly as possible.
Champions begin taking appointments for one-on-one FAFSA or VASA support starting on October 1, 2022. FAFSA( or VASA) is only completed by students in their senior year. Please gather the required information before your appointment. A list of required documents and information is located on our Resources page. It is recommended that both the student and one parent obtain their FSA ID prior to a FAFSA appointment.
